Human rights defender Nasta Loika has been added to the "terrorist list"
Human rights defender Nasta Loika was added to the "terrorist list". The State Security Committee updated the list of "individuals engaged in terrorist activities", resulting in the inclusion of seven more names.
The current "terrorist list" now comprises 1120 individuals, with 368 of them being Belarusians (it is noteworthy that the KGB list has 1129 entries, but 9 persons were previously excluded from it).
In May 2022, it became known that attorney Maxim Znak, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison and recognized as a prisoner of conscience, had also been placed on the State Security Committee's list of organizations and individuals involved in terrorist activities. In this publication we explain how an individual can fall into this list, the consequences it carries, and its legitimacy.
