The trial of human rights activist Nasta Loika will take place on June 13
The trial of human rights activist Nasta Loika will take place on June 13. The case will be considered in the Minsk city court. The trial will be conducted by Judge Alyona Shilko.
The human rights activist was detained on October 28, 2022. Nasta is charged under Part 3 of Art. 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting other social hostility). The reason for this was the alleged participation in the writing of a report on the persecution of the anarchist community in Belarus in 2018: the report gives a critical assessment of the activities of police officers. It is known that behind bars Nastya suffers from stomach problems. She is a vegan and therefore cannot eat what they feed in the pre-trial detention center.
Nasta was re-arrested 5 times last fall. At one of the courts, Nasta stated that during the time she was serving her arrest, she was twice taken to talk with the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption (GUBOPiK) employees, where she was hit with a stun gun once, and on November 11, one of the Detention Center No. 1 on Volodarskogo Street employees took her to the patio and left her without outerwear for 8 hours, after which she became very ill.
