The Belarusian Association of Human Rights Lawyers made a statement regarding the conviction of Alexander Danilevich

The Belarusian Association of Human Rights Lawyers issued a statement on the conviction of the attorney Alexander Danilevich. The Association asserts, "The state shouldn't identify lawyers with their clients or their interests".

The statement claims that Alexander Danilevich didn't commit any crimes, but exercised his constitutional right to freedom of expression and performed his professional duties.

The Belarusian Association of Human Rights Lawyers demands Alexander Danilevich’s immediate release and the termination of his criminal prosecution. "We call on the international bar associations, non-governmental organizations of different countries of the world, and international institutions to continue demonstrating solidarity with the Belarusan attorneys, who are persecuted for diligent performance of their professional duties, to respond to the situation with the ongoing human rights violations in the country".
