Belarusian Independent Association of Human Rights Lawyers Founded

Attorneys who were deprived of the right to a profession in Belarus, and who were forced to leave the country, decided to unite in an association.

The new organization is created as dozens of lawyers who have been wrongfully deprived of the right to practice in Belarus continue to work as human rights lawyers: they conduct settle cases in international bodies, provide legal assistance and legal opinions, give public legal comments and remain professionals responsible for the implementation of attorney's mission.

The goals and objectives of the association are: representation before foreign colleagues, joint discussion of common problems and search for their solutions, assistance to colleagues in Belarus, building professional competencies and maintaining high standards of the profession, which in the future can become the basis for democratic reforms of the legal profession in Belarus.
