From Now on the Heads of Legal Advice Offices are Obliged to Monitor Lawyers’ Social Networks

On August 6, amendments were published to the Regulation on the Head of Legal Advice Office, approved by Resolution No. 29 of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus dated February 1, 2012.

According to the amendments to the Regulation, the powers of the head of an advice office will be supplemented by providing instructions that are mandatory for lawyers, associates, interns, and employees of the office. The duties will also include monitoring compliance by lawyers with the Rules of Professional Ethics as to distributing information (including comments and appraisals) in the media, on the Internet, on their social media pages.
